Good cycling requires great support from every section starting with good roads, clearly demarcated cycle paths, regular maintenance of the roads besides good repair and service facility on your path.
One of the public parks featured here has it all. First, very good cycle path for both training to cycle or practice your cycling everyday without worrying about cars, motorbikes and pedestrians crashing into you routinely. The park has e-cycling charging point, cycle maintenance tools, a foot-pump, cycle storage bays and also cycle hauling area for repairing your bike. "I was pleasantly surprised to see such facility at the fag end of the park you were training my parents to learn cycling" Siddarth wali, a cycling enthusiast himself says. The park in question is in Michigan
Repair Stations feature a stand to mount a bicycle and contain the basic tools needed to perform do-it-yourself bicycle repair including screwdrivers, wrenches, and hex tools. Repair stations also feature a heavy duty bicycle pump with a pump head for both schrader and presta valves. Such repair stations are coming up in a number of cities and Michigan being an extremely bike friendly city has more than its share of public bike amenities.
The Parks & Public Spaces for Mt. Pleasant department had three bicycle repair stations installed throughout the city recently, made possible in part through a grant from the Mt. Pleasant Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
In fact Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has created a detailed map of the entire city and suburbs so that the cycle enthusiasts can choose their region for cycling with least effort! MDOT and its partners have created a series of 12 multi-county regional maps showing road surface type, traffic volume ranges, paved/unpaved shared use paths with regional significance, recreational facilities, points of interest, plus other facilities and amenities which help make bicycling across Michigan an enjoyable experience
The paper maps can be had by contacting the authority. The details of the service is in the Department's website https://www.michigan.gov/mdot/travel/safety/road-users/bicycling/bicycle-maps
Michigan's bicycle trails are also very scenic except for the ones through the city center. The image below has the cycle paths highlighted. The lakes indicated are great scenic spots and the trails are long and well paved. The author had the opportunity to take at least few of these trails during the recent stay in this city also called The Great Lake city owing to these lakes indicated in the map.
Many of these lakes but not all of them have clearly laid out public path for hiking and cycling. The cycle paths are also clearly laid out both for hiking and also for cycling. The road system also allows the cycles to share the main roads with the edges reserved for cyclists except that one has to deal with extremely highspeed traffic.
